Whether you are on the coast or inland, the Shire is blessed with temperate weather and plenty of sunshine all year round. The annual average temperature ranges from 8 degrees celsius rising to 26 degrees celsius. Visitors can enjoy many of the Shire's attractions whether it is Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter - it's up to you.
Spring - September to November
Summer - December to February
Autumn - March to May
Winter - June to August.
The Summer holiday months of December to February are tops for surfing, boating, fishing, swimming or just soaking up some warm sunshine on the Shire's golden sandy beaches, rivers and waterways. Spring, from September to November, is best for seeing the colour and variety of exquisite native wildflowers or landscaped parks and gardens in bloom. For whale watching late Spring and Winter from May to August are the best time. Of course our National Parks are great in any season. In fact, there's plenty to do whatever season you visit the Shire!
